Claudio and Claudia Pistocchi, brother and sister, have been working together in their Florentine workshop for over 30 years.

We make our cakes by hand, one by one, just as we did 30 years ago…
Without using flour, butter, or eggs, and without adding sugar.
By blending up to seven different types of fine dark chocolate, pure cocoa powder, and just a touch of milk cream.
A large, soft, and creamy chocolate, perhaps enriched with fragrant fruits or aromatic spices.
We vacuum-seal them to ensure they retain all their fragrance and goodness for months.

We love chocolate just the way it is—simple, with all its distinctive flavors coming through clearly.

A little bit about our history....

The first Dark Chocolate Cake was created in 1990 at the Florentine restaurant where Claudio Pistocchi served as Executive Chef.
A large, soft, and creamy chocolate, handmade without added sugar and without using eggs, butter, or flour… just extra dark chocolate, unsweetened cocoa powder, and a little milk cream—no preservatives, no additives, almost like a ganache…
That’s how we like our chocolate: simple, with all its characteristic notes clearly present.

A few years later, it took on the name TORTAPISTOCCHI® to clearly distinguish it from the inevitable early attempts at imitation.
The cake grew slowly, making its way into the world of artisanal chocolate, until it became the phenomenon it is today.
Since 2005, Claudio and his sister Claudia, after selling the catering business that had run alongside their chocolate work for 13 years, have dedicated themselves solely and exclusively to the production of this unique product in a gluten-free environment.
Innovation and continuous research have in no way diminished the artisanal nature of the product, which continues to be made by hand just as it was back then, with ever-improving quality.

The place where different types of chocolate and cocoa from all over the world come together

We use only the finest ingredients, from natural vanilla to dark chocolate.
No artificial flavors, no preservatives, no vegetable fats other than cocoa butter.
Candied citrus fruits made with only fruit and sugar, an ancient Ethiopian Arabian variety, fragrant dark red cocoa, the finest Italian hazelnuts… and so on…
For us, skimping on ingredients is pure madness; we want the best, and we have to enjoy it too.
This has been our philosophy for over 30 years; it has always rewarded us and continues to do so.

You can find the famous Pistocchi cake here. It’s absolutely delicious and melts in your mouth. The shop offers a wide variety of chocolates, cremini, and cookies—all made in-house. Anyone passing by simply must try the Pistocchi cake.
